I have not written anything for so long but something happened that made me think. Inspired me, and I realized that it’s worth sharing. So, here it is, the phenomenon of Miracles. Some believe in it and some don’t. I had only heard of it but never experienced it, until yesterday.
So what is a miracle?
I cannot define it yet I can tell you that if you can find your own short comings, that is a miracle. If you do not channelize your anger onto someone else but let go of it, then that is a miracle.
To be a better person today than what you were yesterday, that is a miracle. If you can successfully fight your demons, that is a miracle. Perfection is not a miracle. It is plastic. Imperfection in its best form, when accepted, is a miracle.
I mostly pray to God for only one thing and that is, that he must save me from becoming the kind of person I cannot look up to and keep me as He has designed. Do not let the unkind, ignorant or the arrogant influence and forge the soul He has made. And when this prayer was answered, that was my miracle. We are all made differently but the one common thing among us, is the source of our being. When that source really appreciates your efforts for building yourself in the best possible form, then that is a miracle. Because, then you know that the Almighty is looking directly at you and smiling to affirm your path.
When you are blessed with the belief and ability to be sure of a positive outcome from a negative situation, then you are the miracle. For me, all of my failures have provided a variety of lessons. The lessons, I was blind to until I took a closer look. Well, I had nothing to do for almost 2 years, so I was forced to think about everything that happened. The insight or the perspective that one has for such deep thinking is not the ability of the individual but a miraculous blessing. So, I consider myself blessed for gaining such perspective.
We have Miracles everyday in our lives; we are only too busy to notice. Or too broken to believe, or too ignorant to understand. Sometimes, too arrogant to appreciate. Patience is a virtue and that is true. Never become the person you have always hated. Never hate a person in the first place. Forgive and let go. It heals your wounds. But hatred and grudge always keep the wounds fresh. Those fresh wounds are only going to hurt you every day. How will you see the Miracles every day, if you are always hurting inside?
Isn’t it a miracle in itself that you woke up today morning! May be I am preaching far too much, but that is not what it is. I am just trying to share my view of life. That’s a fresh new view, by the way. I got this only recently. Being grateful to others for their vaguest or smallest of assistance can open a number of new doors inside you which you didn’t know about. You will start to find a new person, a better person inside yourself, every day. Be grateful. Even your gratitude can be miraculous for someone else. Saying “Thank You” with a smile can make someone’s gloomy day, shine bright. Because we all feel the need to be appreciated.
My Miracles happen every day, every time I resist anger, every time I assist someone, every time I show a little patience with someone who whole heartedly tries to offend me. I started to notice my Miracles when my children brought out a different side of me, the love my children (apparently my students) showered on me. Every time my niece hugs me tight and refuses to let go, I feel the miracle. We all have our Miracles, just the way we all have our demons and angels. I also believe in guardian angels. This may sound like utopian and fairytale inspired, but if only you can believe, Miracles do happen and we all have our guardian angels.
“If you too have your Miracles, you can share.
Always believe and never lose faith.”
